Games Workshop has announced their Age of Sigmar Christmas Boxes for 2022, and they fall in line very close with the Warhammer 40k Christmas Boxes of 2022. They are valued about the same (somewhere between $300 and $350 for each) and they are unusual in that they have bigger, more powerful units in them than we’ve seen in past Age of Sigmar Christmas boxes.

What Are the Best Value Warhammer Age of Sigmar Christmas Boxes for 2022?
The clear winner this year is the Sylvaneth, coming in at a $350 value. Now, to be clear, we don’t know what the boxes are going to cost. Given the recent prices with Games Workshop products, and everything that’s in these boxes, it seems surprising that they’re going to be going for less than $300. But the whole point is to be good value, so I’d guess they’ll be at a $250 price point. (If you’ve noticed, I’ve linked various items to Amazon where you can already get them at a 20% discount.)
Still, there’s a lot to love in the Age of Sigmar Christmas Boxes. I find it everlastingly funny that there’s a Christmas box from the Daughters of Khaine called the Slaughter Coven featuring the Slaughter Queen on her Cauldron of Blood. Very Christmasy topic for the Mortal Realms.
There are a lot of great opportunities to start entire Age of Sigmar armies with these boxes. While a box like the Kruleboyz’s doesn’t give you a lot of troops, something like the Nighthaunt armies will give you a lot to go on, and the Skaven Christmas box is a huge army. (It helps that the Skaven are in dire need of a range refresh.)
I love the Gloomspite Gitz’s Squigalanche, and I’ve written before about how a Stormcast Eternals all-dragon army would be cool–this could be a jumping off point for them.
I’m interested to see how quickly these sell out. I admit that I wasn’t interested in the Warhammer 40k Christmas boxes this year, but I am very tempted by a lot of these. (It doesn’t help that on my Ovelist this year I said I was going to start an Age of Sigmar army and then never got there.)
