We at Wargame Explorer are always looking to expand our horizons into new games, new playstyles, new hobby techniques, and new takes on the wargaming industry. Basically, if you have an opinion that relates to wargaming, we would love to take a look at it.

Guest blogging is a great way to make a name for yourself and expand your online presence, especially if you have a new or midlist blog–we all know how important backlinks are–and guest blogging can be a wonderful way to grow your audience.

As for Wargame Explorer, who we are:

  • We are a new outlet as of 2021, but growing rapidly
  • We’re currently averaging 4100 pageviews a day (as of 11/1/2022), growing about 20% month over month
  • 45% of our traffic comes from the United States, 20% from the UK, and about 5-8% each for Canada, Germany, and Australia. (The rest comes from all over the world.)

A few requirements:

  1. Your post must be between 750 words or longer. Longer word counts can be allowed if you make a good case for it.
  2. Your guest post will be edited for grammar and readability. If we want edits that actually affect the content of the piece we will contact you and ask for your approval.
  3. We reserve the right to reject any piece of content that is sent to us, for any reason. We will notify you if your piece has been excluded, and you may (given the reason) be given the opportunity to rewrite and resubmit.
  4. We do not tolerate any hate of any group, including any gender, sex, religion, nationality, race, color, orientation, or anything else that we deem to be hateful or damaging rhetoric.
  5. While we don’t mind being critical of games or current events in the wargaming world, we would prefer that your post could have some sort of positive spin, or at least end with some degree of hope for the future. HOWEVER: if the piece is calling out an especially egregious problem in the community, we will make exceptions to allow you to fully explain your grievances.
  6. We absolutely welcome the discussion of any gaming system, be it indie or massive.
  7. We welcome the comments from newbies and veterans. If you want to write about how you are brand new to the hobby and have so many questions, we would love that. If you want to write about how you played 1st Edition Rogue Trader and have opinions about the growth of the industry, we would love that, too.
  8. We DO NOT want to be an advertising platform for your game, models, or accessories. If you have a product that you want to be reviewed on this site, then send us that product! But we will not post PR posts verbatim.
  9. We are not currently paying for guest posts. Nor will we accept money to post an article that does not meet these guidelines.

To submit an article, send it to: wargameexplorer@gmail.com, with the subject line “Guest Post”.

For your submission, you can either write a complete article and send it in for review, or you could send in a query letter with a selection of possible topics that we can choose from. The latter is the preferred method (so you don’t spend time writing something that we wouldn’t want) but either will be accepted.
